Church Planting in Mongolia: Faith on the Frontier

Our November church planting series continues with an inspiring update from Mongolia, where local believers are reaching remote communities with the hope of Christ. (If you missed our Cambodia story earlier this month, be sure to check your inbox!)

Since 2020, Genesis–Asian Outreach Mongolia (G-AOM) has partnered with churches in Ulaangom, Uvs Province, helping young pastors grow strong, sustainable ministries. Through an integrated approach—church planting, Winter Kits, leadership training, and life skills programs—local churches are meeting both spiritual and practical needs in their communities.

One powerful example comes from Light, Truth and Way church, where Chimedee and his wife are putting their Great Commission Institute (GCI) leadership training into action. After reaching 40 youth in nearby villages through our Winter Kits project, they’ve continued traveling 340 km every other Sunday to disciple new believers. Their dedication has led 30 teenagers to faith in Jesus! Recently, they relocated permanently to these villages to plant a new church and help these young believers grow.

Meanwhile, Altai and his team are sharing the Gospel in three villages near the Russian border, reaching dozens of youth and families each month. And through Pastor Enkh’s mentorship, underground church leaders in Inner Mongolia continue to receive vital encouragement and biblical training.
