RAN Update: Third School Complete!

Dear Friends,

Marnie and I have had the privilege of spending the past three months in Asia. During this time, we traveled in and out of several countries in Southeast Asia, visiting coworkers, national leaders, and project sites. Throughout the journey we have been continually reminded of God’s faithfulness and the power of partnership in serving communities together.

One of the highlights of our trip was being in a Restricted Access Nation (RAN), where, together with our partners and friends, we dedicated and officially opened a third school. What once were three dilapidated schools have now been replaced with brand-new places of learning and hope. We were joined by government officials, local leaders, foundation partners, and members of the local communities as we celebrated what God has made possible.

This moment was especially meaningful because these schools were built alongside water and sanitation projects—bringing clean water, dignity, hope, and education to marginalized communities. It is a beautiful reminder that when practical needs are met, doors open for transformation in families and communities.

Another outstanding event was seeing our staff from Asian Outreach Cambodia conduct Family Empowerment Training with some of our partners and national leaders in this RAN. It was deeply encouraging to watch our Cambodia team step forward and serve in this way. Their teaching on finance, hygiene, anti-human trafficking awareness, and other practical life lessons was not only helpful, but truly inspiring to everyone involved.

We have heard firsthand from government leaders and community leaders about the positive impact these projects are having and the growing respect for our national leaders who are serving faithfully in their own communities.
