WASH | June 2023

Dear Friends,

Water and Sanitation Health (WASH) remains our focus for the month of June!

As a reminder, our goal is to bring WASH to 500 families in Northern Cambodia and a nearby Restricted Access Nation (RAN). This will include a ceramic water filter and latrine for each home, combating the harmful effects of open defecation. In addition to this, we aim to drill 10-12 community wells in villages that do not have access to a reasonably clean source of water for filtration.

Finally, we would like to rebuild two dilapidated schools in the RAN, giving children the opportunity to get an education. We will also distribute Feminine Hygiene Kits to young ladies, empowering them to continue attending school during menstruation.

Here's how you can help:

  • $20 will supply a young lady with a Feminine Hygiene Kit.

  • $70 will supply a water filter system for each home.

  • $250 will supply all the materials for a home latrine. Each family will be responsible for digging their own hole and helping with the construction.

  • The cost for each well depends on the location and the depth. Estimates are $1,500 - $2,500.

  • It will cost $30,000 - $40,000 to rebuild the two schools. Our goal is not just to construct new schools, but to also equip them with the resources they need for each classroom.

Rich blessings,
