Emmanuel, God is With Us!

Dear Friends,

I know I use the words 'exciting' and 'amazing' a fair bit in my writing. I guess I could use words like 'wonderful' and 'fantastic' as well, but when you are truly excited and amazed, other words just don’t seem to fit.

We are approaching the end of the year, and we are well into the Christmas Season. There is some irony in the timing of celebrating the end of the year and the birth of our Lord. I find it’s a time of reflection and celebration. “Emmanuel, God is with us,” embodies so much as I reflect about all that the birth of our Saviour means in God’s great plan of redeeming and transforming His world. It means we are not alone. It means that God is with us; He is in control and His great plan is unfolding.

As I look back on all of the things that have happened in the world of Asian Outreach, I am truly humbled by God’s blessing. I am grateful for all the individuals, foundations and churches that have faithfully partnered to see lives changed and communities transformed.

  • Almost 200 children have been given the opportunity to go to school.

  • Water filters and wells are bringing clean water to hundreds of homes.

  • 579 homes will have functioning latrines.

  • Women are learning about financial management and how to protect their families and children against human trafficking.

  • Young ladies are becoming empowered about their health and Days for Girls kits are being given out.

  • Leaders in persecuted countries are being trained and supported.

  • 1,200 children in Mongolia will have warm clothes this winter.

  • One school is built and dedicated, and one more is in the planning stages. That means 5 new classrooms!

  • And, so much more…

All of these projects are “wrapped” in the Good News of the Gospel. A Gospel of salvation, forgiveness, hope and peace. I want to say a heartfelt thank you for being a part of the work of Asian Outreach. We could not do it without you.

We pray that you will sense the close presence of God as we celebrate the birth of His Son this Christmas Season.

Emmanuel, God is with us,
