Next month marks The Centre's 30th birthday. There are so many reasons to be grateful! Marnie and I are excited to join the celebration during our trip this Fall. We are so thankful that God called us to start a little English centre in Thailand those many years ago. What a blessing it has been to see this ministry grow and the Lord working in the hearts of young people in Chiang Mai.
Apart from this milestone, The Centre has made a couple of other exciting announcements that I would like to share with you.
The Lord has added some wonderful new members to the team! There are officially fourteen teachers serving at The Centre, representing five nationalities. God has gifted each person uniquely to be able to connect with the students. With a larger team, The Centre has been able to take on more English students; host more events throughout the week; and grow their presence on the Chiang Mai University campus down the road.
This past September, The Centre welcomed their new Director, Jacques van der Merwe. Jacques, his wife Julie, and their four children are from South Africa. They've served across Asia for the last fourteen years. Before jumping in as Director, Jacques served at The Centre for two years. He is excited to be a part of what God is doing in Chiang Mai.
The Lord has given the team at The Centre a renewed vision: to see university students transformed by the gospel and nurtured to be disciple-makers in communities throughout Thailand and beyond.Â
