Dear Friends,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to remind you about our ongoing "Christmas in July" campaign, where we aim to provide 200 Winter Kits for at-risk children in rural Mongolia.
Each kit costs $100 CAD and includes essential items like a hat, gloves, scarf, thermal underwear, a thick jacket, socks, and boots. These kits are essential for ensuring that children can travel to school and continue their education during the harsh winter months, where temperatures can drop below -30°C.
One story that highlights the importance of this campaign is that of Doljo, a brave 7-year-old girl from the Khovd province. Doljo lives with her grandfather and her 10-month-old sister, as their mother struggles with alcoholism and often leaves them for long periods. Doljo's grandfather, a believer, is her primary caregiver and has been a pillar of support for the family.
Despite the challenges, Doljo walks 3 kilometres to school every day, braving the extreme cold. Last year, thanks to your generosity, Doljo received a Winter Kit, which made it possible for her to continue her education without interruption. The local church has been a crucial support for her family.
Grandparents like Doljo's often act as primary caregivers and rely heavily on the support of local churches. By contributing to our campaign, you help children like Doljo and empower their families.
We are grateful for the support so far, but we still need your help to reach our goal. Your donation will bring warmth and hope to children in Mongolia this winter.
Every contribution makes a difference. Thank you for your continued support and generosity.
