As we reflect on the highlights of AO Mongolia's Winter Kits project in 2023, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for your ongoing support and generosity.
This year, 1,202 children received Winter Kits, surpassing our initial goal of 1,000. With the help of our generous donors, we were able to provide an additional 202 children with warm winter gear. That's 202 children who have been able to attend school during the harsh winter months.
Our dedicated team of 200 volunteers from 51 different churches in 13 provinces worked tirelessly to distribute these packages of warmth and hope. They reached out to 552 families and had the privilege of spreading the Gospel in each home. They witnessed 564 children express their decision to accept Jesus as their Saviour. Isn't this incredible news?
From the planning stages to the joyful distribution, every step of the process was filled with love and compassion. We partnered with local companies who helped us source affordable winter wear. We are also grateful for the contributions of volunteers from New Zealand, who brought warm hand-knitted beanies, and local churches, who prepared gift bags filled with joyous surprises for the children.
An exciting new component was the comprehensive discipleship manual our team crafted, which was printed and distributed to each child who received a Winter Kit. This invaluable resource serves as the cornerstone for launching a discipleship course in our project areas, enriching the spiritual journey of countless young lives.
In the midst of our efforts, we encountered heartwarming stories like that of Purev, a 10-year-old boy from Tuv province. Despite facing hardships at home, Purev found comfort and hope through the discipleship course and Winter Kits project. He shared, “The jackets and boots were perfectly fit my size.” He has since started attending church every Sunday. His gratitude inspires us to continue our mission of spreading warmth and God's love.
